Citable release
Danziger, P., and De Llano, R. (2026). U.S. Shipyard Asbestos Exposure Dataset v1.6 [Data set]. Zenodo. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22313866.
For an individual facility claim, cite the linked primary source whenever possible; the dataset provides a release-level record and source path, not a substitute for the primary record.
What changed
v1.6 retains 37 shipyard records and 87 documented products, and contains 118 evidence findings. It adds 12 selected, establishment-specific official OSHA inspection or Chemical Exposure Health Data findings and corrects one former Bath Iron Works OSHA citation that referred to an exit-route requirement rather than asbestos evidence.
Scope and limits
The OSHA additions are administrative inspection and sampling records, not a representative census of conditions or conclusions about individual exposure, dose, medical causation, product source, or liability. Brooklyn is limited to the G. Marine Diesel tenant establishment at Building 386; Newport to Derecktor at Coddington Cove; and Todd to the San Francisco establishment rather than Alameda. Mare Island and Tampa candidates were excluded for insufficient site/entity matching.
