- Limitations
- Official search-index text reviewed; direct page fetch returned 404 (Python also encountered a local certificate error). No asbestos statement. July 1957 is an in-service date, not commissioning. The article’s July 1986 reserve-location statement conflicts with later service information in Shipscribe and is not adopted as a current or continuous status.

- Official product page, Highlights
- Finding type

- NARA’s naval asbestos research guide identifies Bureau of Ships records as a research route and cautions that deck logs and muster rolls do not directly establish asbestos presence.

[6]Codex batch 9503 research ledger and preserved authenticated helper diagnostic [other_primary]
- Locator
- search_ledger; research/batch-9503/RESEARCH.md; cl-name-opinion.log
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos record was located in this bounded review. Asbestos documentation aboard Alatna remains unknown; CourtListener coverage is incomplete because the first authenticated name query was throttled.

- Documentation level
- ship_specific
- Accessed
- 2026-09-24
- Limitations
- This is a research outcome, not proof that asbestos was absent and not a judicial negative finding. CourtListener returned HTTP 429 with a 2,152-second delay before any result payload; hull-number and docket searches remain unexecuted. The adapter required stopping on throttling. No litigation merits or exposure conclusion is supported.
