- Limitations
- Official indexed text inspected; direct page returned 404. Complement 219 is the historical DANFS figure, not a crew manifest or troop capacity. Prompt attributes 1 September 1952 to NVR, whose vessel detail was not recovered; date difference remains unresolved. History does not establish asbestos presence or individual exposure.

[3]Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Schoolships of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, updated 20 February 2004 [other_primary]
- Locator
- Bay State IV, 1980 entry
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- Massachusetts Maritime Academy identifies Bay State IV (1980) as ex-USNS Geiger, ex-President Adams, of the Barrett class. Its account records a summer cruise, a stability problem, no cruise in 1981, and a fire at State Pier that gutted the engine room and killed a cadet while the ship was preparing for a winter cruise.

- Limitations
- General maritime guidance does not name Geiger or establish asbestos installation aboard any particular pre-2002 vessel. No inference of legal applicability to naval service, product, location, quantity, condition, exposure or causation is made. Tier 2 denotes background research context, not a positive hull finding.
