- Limitations
- Sale for scrapping is not proof of the completion date of demolition. These later commercial events do not establish Navy-era asbestos use or exposure; no conversion materials scope is supplied.

[5]Historic American Engineering Record, Saugatuck, HAER VA-128 [haer]
- Locator
- Printed page 38 / PDF page 39, Fort Cornwallis row
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- The official Saugatuck HAER report appendix identifies Fort Cornwallis as the vessel later named Parkersburg (AO 163).

- Limitations
- Only the explicit name-to-AO-163 cross-reference is adopted. This appendix gives MC 1743 and a 1957 Navy year, conflicting with original MARAD cards (MC 1731 and MSTS custody 21 December 1956); those appendix details are rejected. Saugatuck materials or machinery are not transferred to Parkersburg.

- Locator
- PDF pages 1-2, opening summary and Navy's Policy on Use of Asbestos
- Finding type
- asbestos_application

- Limitations
- Program-level historical evidence only. The 1979 report postdates Parkersburg's MSTS service and its fieldwork concerns Long Beach and Norfolk, not this hull. It establishes no installed products, quantities, crew exposure, individual causation or abatement aboard Parkersburg. Web PDF text retrieved; direct local download returned access-denied HTML.

- Locator
- search_ledger sl-01 through sl-12; research/batch-9557/RESEARCH.md and cl-name-opinion.log
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos record was located in the primary records and bounded web searches reviewed for this batch. Ship-specific asbestos documentation remains unknown. CourtListener coverage is incomplete because the authenticated helper stopped at the shared pacing budget before returning any results.

- Limitations
- A bounded research outcome, not proof that asbestos or litigation did not exist. No CourtListener zero-hit claim is made. Name, hull, alias, docket and opinion sweeps remain incomplete. The downloaded USCG records concern a collision and radio inspection, not an asbestos inspection.

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- NARA recommends ship-specific Bureau of Ships correspondence, ship information books and engineering drawings for researching naval asbestos. Its guide lists 1956 and 1957 unclassified correspondence as RG 19 entries UD 1010 and UD 1011; these are follow-up leads for Parkersburg's Navy period.
