- Limitations
- Official indexed text was read; live page retrieval failed and a local request returned an empty body. Complement applies to the DANFS configuration, not every service period. Special insulation does not identify asbestos, composition, exposure, or causation.

- Program PDF images 1-2; MARAD 11934 status-card heading (1767569c-78ee-4030-b7ce-d2cbada4fe6f.jpg)
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- Point Loma (AGDS-2) was commissioned on 3 July 1976 at the Naval Submarine Support Facility, Ballast Point, San Diego. MARAD identifies Point Loma (T-AGDS-2); its linked status-card image identifies the former name and hull as Point Barrow, T-AKD 1. Both identities are consolidated as one vessel.

- Limitations
- Navy program is an original-document scan hosted by NavSource, not reliance on its editorial ship summary. All three PDF images were visually reviewed. MARAD card is a clipped reference page with conflicting dates, used only for explicit name/hull linkage; its service and recommissioning dates are not adopted. These sources establish no asbestos facts.

- Opinion Facts, paragraph 17 quotation (official indexed PDF p. 3); official docket 06-CV-0952, events 23 July and 17 August 2009
- Finding type
- litigation_documented
- Finding
- The exact-name CourtListener opinion search returned Debnam v. Crane Co., 976 A.2d 193 (D.C. 2009), No. 06-CV-952. Point Barrow appears in a quoted 1959 agreement concerning an electro-hydraulic crane warranty claim, not a shipboard asbestos allegation. Classification: other litigation (incidental vessel mention in an asbestos suit about school boilers). The official docket records reversal and remand on 23 July 2009 and mandate on 17 August 2009.

- Accessed

- Limitations
- CourtListener authenticated search verified the hit; opinion API retrieval was blocked by fleet pacing. Official PDF p. 3 indexed excerpt independently verifies the crane reference; full official PDF fetch failed. Full text was read in FindLaw's judicial-opinion reproduction, not its marketing material. Official docket https://efile.dcappeals.gov/public/caseView.do?csIID=44268 confirms disposition. Successor-warranty contract reversal is not an exposure finding. No vessel exposure stage is assigned; shipboard exposure is not alleged in the reviewed text. Official full-text re-verification remains open; no asbestos product is attributed to the ship.
