- DANFS entry for Agile (AMc-111): wooden-hulled coastal minesweeper, 215 tons, 96'0" x 24'0" x 7', 10.0 knots, armed with two .50-cal and two .30-cal machine guns. Purchased by the Navy from John Breskovich of Tacoma, WA on 1941-04-10 while still under construction at Petersen Shipbuilding Co., Tacoma; delivered 1941-11-26; placed in service 1941-12-12, Lt. (jg.) John G. Turbitt, USNR, in charge. Reported to 13th Naval District Inshore Patrol 1941-12-23; based at Naval Station Seattle, patrolled Puget Sound until April 1942 yard repairs/alterations. Moved to Kodiak, AK October 1943 under Commander, Northwest Sea Frontier; assigned to the newly established Alaskan Sea Frontier after 1944-04-16. Returned to Seattle 1944-10-04; minesweeping gear removed at Winslow Marine Railway; reported to NAS Whidbey Island 1944-12-20 for torpedo loading/delivery duty; redesignated IX-203 on 1944-12-30; out of service 1945-12-14; struck 1946-01-08; turned over to the Maritime Commission for disposal 1946-03-14.

- Limitations
- Authoritative for identity, construction purchase, service history, reclassification, and disposal milestones. Contains no asbestos, insulation-material, propulsion-machinery, or complement information; the April 1942 yard period is described only as 'repairs and alterations.' Establishes no exposure facts.

- Admirable DANFS entry, July-August 1944 Kodiak paragraph
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- The DANFS entry for USS Admirable (AM-136) names Agile (AMc-111) as a member of the Admirable-led sweep group - with Augury (AM-149), Affray (AMc-112), and YMS-285 - that began clearing the channel to St. Paul's Harbor, Kodiak, on 1944-08-02 and then patrolled outside the harbor ahead of President Roosevelt's arrival aboard USS Baltimore (CA-68) on 1944-08-07. Corroborates Agile's documented Kodiak/Alaskan Sea Frontier assignment.

- Finding
- NARA Catalog lists digitized deck logs for this hull in RG 24 (Navy deck logs, National Archives at College Park): file units 'Agile (AMC-111) - January 1 to June 3, 1944' (naId 146165071, 83 images), 'June 4 to October 31, 1944' (naId 146165155, 80 images), 'November to December 1944' (naId 146165236, 36 images), and 'January to March 1945' (naId 146165273, 52 images); plus 'Agile (IX-203), 3/31/45-3/31/45' (naId 125408176). Digitized page images are publicly served from catalog.archives.gov.

- Crew of AMc-111/IX-203 during logged periods
- Limitations
- Establishes that primary-source deck logs exist and are digitized; the logs were not read page-by-page for this record and their content (movements, availabilities, possible yard/work entries) is unextracted. No deck logs for 1941-1943 were located in the digitized catalog. Establishes no exposure facts by itself.

- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- Peer-reviewed historical study documents that asbestos was used extensively as a fireproofing and insulating material in U.S. shipbuilding during WWII - the era and program under which this vessel was acquired and converted for naval service - and that wartime demand drove unprecedented asbestos utilization.

- Population
- WWII shipyard workers and ship crews (era context)
- Limitations
- Program/era-level scholarship on WWII shipbuilding asbestos generally; does not name this vessel or its class and does not establish that asbestos was or is aboard this hull, nor quantity, location, condition, exposure, or causation. Inference is further weakened here because this hull is a wooden diesel conversion without a steam plant.

- Finding
- Secondary compilation of USN vessel data (HyperWar 'Ships of the U.S. Navy, 1940-1945') places AMc-111 in the 'Converted Vessel Class' coastal minesweeper group - 45 fishing vessels (mostly draggers and purse seiners, largely tuna clippers from west coast ports) acquired and converted to minesweepers - with class-wide spec ranges (165-270 tons, 76'7"-136' length, 8.5-14 knots, complement 15-47) and notes AMc-111's conversion to IX-203.

- Population
- Converted fishing-vessel minesweeper crews (class context)
- Limitations
- Volunteer-compiled secondary transcription, not an official record - carried as class-level context only. Spec figures are class ranges, not hull measurements for AMc-111; consistent with DANFS (purchase from a Tacoma fisherman mid-construction) but adds no official detail. Establishes no exposure facts.

[6]Batch-1466 search ledger (this record): DANFS/NHHC (live + mirrors), NARA Catalog digitized deck logs, MARAD ShipHistory vessel-name search, CourtListener API v4 (blocked - HTTP 429 quota), HyperWar compiled lists, general web sweep [other_primary]
- Locator

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos record located: no asbestos survey, material specification, abatement contract, hazmat disclosure, or docketed case naming Agile (AMc-111/IX-203) was found in the public sources searched (see search_ledger). MARAD ShipHistory contains no record for this hull (its single 'Agile' entry is a 1980 vessel - name collision). The CourtListener API sweep was blocked at research time, so the litigation surface is unchecked rather than confirmed negative.

- Limitations
- Absence of a located public record does not prove absence of asbestos aboard - era-typical materials may have been fitted and simply never documented for a small, short-lived, non-preserved hull. The blocked CourtListener sweep leaves the litigation surface unchecked; does not establish or defeat any claim of exposure or legal eligibility.
