- Ships' Data 1943 carries APc-35 on the official List of Naval Vessels (book p. 21): 'AUXILIARIES - COASTAL TRANSPORTS (SMALL) (APc)' lists the class by range - 'A Pc1-50' (the hull-numbers itemization used for unnamed craft). The class characteristics table (book pp. 592-593) covers 'Coastal Transports Nos. 1-50 (Ex-AMc 150-199)': length overall 103 ft 3 in, waterline 98 ft 2 in, beam 21 ft 3 in (max), max draft 8 ft 4 in (estimated), trial displacement 234 tons (maximum load), one propeller, diesel engine, two diesel DC generator sets; armament and quarters columns blank in this edition.

- NARA Special List #44 (ship-number index to U.S. Navy deck logs 1801-1947) indexes this hull: 'APC-35 12/2/1942 - 8/31/1943' - deck logs exist in NARA physical holdings covering commissioning through August 1943, the batch brief's 'WWII deck logs establish service.' No 'AMC-152' index entry exists (consistent with the hull never serving under the minesweeper designation). Indexed coverage ends 8/31/1943 - the loss month (September 1943 grounding) falls outside the indexed range, and the logs are not among NARA's digitized deck-log sets.

- Locator
- Class Notes section, paragraphs 1-3
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- ShipScribe APc-1 class notes document the program history bounding this hull's design: the AMc coastal-minesweeper design derived from requisitioned commercial fishing boats - wood hulls, ~96 ft. On 19 Jan 1942 CNO directed construction of 50 more of the type (AMc 150-199); in February 1942 BuShips issued a modified design (103 ft). On 13 Apr 1942 CNO requested the 50 vessels be built instead as 'raider transports, AP'; the District Craft Development Board recommended the change 20 Apr 42 and the 'Coastal transport (small), APc' category was created 22 Apr 42. 'AMc 150-199 thus became APc 1-50, though not respectively.' The APc program was terminated 3 Oct 42 (VCNO cancelled the final 15).

- Finding
- Design-bounded assessment of the asbestos-relevant profile: this craft had a wooden hull, one diesel engine on a single screw (~300-400 shp per source), and two diesel generator sets - no boilers, no steam lines, no turbines. The dominant shipboard asbestos applications of WWII naval construction (boiler and steam-line lagging, turbine insulation, steam-flange gaskets) were absent by design. Residual era-consistent applications aboard a small diesel transport - engine/exhaust insulation, machinery gaskets and packing, electrical insulation, friction linings on the 2-ton boom winch - are plausible but documented by no source for this hull.

(b) Specifications - Ships' Data 1943 class table (103'3 x 98'2 x 21'3, trial 234 t max load) vs ShipScribe class data (103.25' oa / 98.2' wl x 21.25' x 9.25' lim; 161 light / 258 lim) vs NavSource (103'3 x 21'3 x 9'3; 100 lt / 234 fl / 258 lim) vs HyperWar (103' x 22' x 11'; 9 kts; 2x20mm) - within-compilation variance; the official 1943 figures are carried as the baseline. (c) Complement - Ships' Data blank; ShipScribe class '21 (1944)'; NavSource '3 officers + 22 enlisted'; HyperWar '3 officers, 25 enlisted' - unresolved, none verified against a per-hull official document. (d) Armament - Ships' Data 1943 armament column blank; ShipScribe class '4-20mm single' original; NavSource 'four single 20mm AA'; HyperWar '2 20 mm' - the wartime fit is not established by the official 1943 table. (e) Campaign dates - NavSource '31 June' typo read as 30 June 1943 (New Georgia-Rendova-Vangunu occupation). (f) Builder spelling - 'Christofani' (NavSource) vs 'Cristofani' (Ships' Data 1943, ShipScribe, shipbuildinghistory) - official spelling controls. (g) Loss detail - all sources agree on grounding/beach-abandonment off New Georgia 22 Sep 1943; NavSource/HyperWar add 'en route to Renard Sound' and position 08 48 S, 157 46 E. CourtListener authenticated API sweep was blocked by the shared daily quota (HTTP 429); a supplementary web-index check returned only name collisions (W.R.
