- Finding
- NHHC/DANFS identifies Brisk (PG-89) as a modified Flower-class corvette: laid down 28 February 1942 at Kingston, Ontario, by War Supplies, Ltd., for the Royal Navy; launched 15 June 1942; reallocated to the United States under reverse lend-lease; renamed and designated PG-89 on 14 August 1942; completed 5 December 1942; commissioned 6 December 1942. DANFS gives displacement 925 tons, length 205 feet 4 inches, beam 33 feet 1 inch, draft 14 feet 6 inches, speed 16.5 knots, and design complement 85. Brisk escorted convoys between New York and Guantánamo Bay through V-E Day, was decommissioned at Charleston on 9 October 1945, and was struck from the Navy list on 24 October 1945. DANFS says it transferred to the War Shipping Administration on 18 October 1946 and operated as a merchant vessel under Brisk, Ariana, Arvida Bay, and Zaida into the early 1960s.

[5]National Archives, Researching Asbestos aboard US Naval Vessel up through 1961 [other_primary]

- Guide introduction and Beginning Research section
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- NARA's research guide states that use of asbestos in U.S. Navy materiel from 1941-1961 is a frequently requested research topic and directs researchers toward ship-specific records and related federal sources. This is general Navy research context overlapping Brisk's 1942-1945 service period; the guide does not name Brisk or establish any asbestos product aboard it.

[6]Authenticated CourtListener helper attempt; cl-auth-search.py, API v4 only [court_record]
- Locator
- Batch search ledger rows sl-uss-brisk-pg89-06 through sl-uss-brisk-pg89-09
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying asbestos-litigation finding is carried for USS Brisk (PG-89). The required authenticated CourtListener sweep was not completed: the exact-name opinion request was attempted but returned no payload within the tool window; the exact-name docket request was attempted and then stopped when the helper reported the fleet-wide pacing budget spent. Hull-number opinion and hull-number docket queries were not run, and no asbestos-qualified variants were run.
