    Finding
LST-611 was laid down 17 December 1943 at Seneca, Illinois, by Chicago Bridge & Iron Co.; launched 28 April 1944; and commissioned 15 May 1944. It served in the Asiatic-Pacific theater, including the Leyte landing in October 1944 and Mindoro landing in December 1944; later operated with the Amphibious Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and participated in the Inchon landings in September 1950. On 1 July 1955 it was redesignated Crook County (LST-611), named after counties in Oregon and Wyoming. On 26 October 1956 it was placed in service, in reserve, in caretaker status. DANFS credits two World War II battle stars and three Korean War battle stars.
