[4]Era inference anchored to DANFS/NVR-documented construction and yard periods for this hull [other_primary]
- Locator
- construction-era inference from DANFS/NVR dates and yard periods
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- Era inference: a first-generation ballistic-missile submarine built 1961-64 at Newport News in the peak asbestos era would era-typically have carried asbestos-containing insulation, gaskets, and packing around its secondary steam and auxiliary machinery (S5W steam plant, turbines, pumps, valves); the late-1960s Charleston overhaul and the 1975 Portsmouth refueling overhaul plus Poseidon conversion are yard-disturbance windows of the kind in which era insulation was installed and removed. Nuclear propulsion itself establishes nothing about asbestos; the inference attaches to conventional steam-side systems only.

- Newport News construction trades; Charleston NSY overhaul trades (late 1960s); Portsmouth NSY refueling/conversion trades (1975)
- Limitations
- CLASS/ERA INFERENCE ONLY - no ship-specific material schedule, survey, or insulation record was located for this hull. Does not establish asbestos aboard USS Henry Clay, any exposure, or any quantity. Never infer ship-specific findings from this row.

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- Litigation sweep result: five retrieved asbestos complaint exhibits from the 2007-08 Northern District of California Mare Island/Puget Sound filing family were searched verbatim for this hull (Halseth ECF 1-2 multi-plaintiff exhibit, Cooks ECF 1-2, Davis ECF 1-3, Cronin ECF 1, McIntyre ECF 1). No entry for 'HENRY CLAY' or 'SSBN-625' appears in any of them, although sister Lafayette-class hulls are listed (SSBN-616, -617, -619, -620, -622, -623, -624). No asbestos opinion naming this hull was located in indexed-document sweeps by exact name or hull number.

- Absence from located rosters is not proof no pleading exists - CourtListener coverage is not exhaustive for state-court pleadings, the API was rate-limited and public search WAF-blocked this session, and non-mirrored federal filings are outside this sweep.

- see search_ledger sl-uss-henry-clay-ssbn625-01..08
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- Negative finding: no ship-specific asbestos documentation of any kind was located for USS Henry Clay (SSBN-625) - no hull ACM survey, abatement contract, recycling-hazmat disclosure, materials schedule, litigation roster entry, or adjudicated exposure finding. Ship-specific asbestos documentation status: UNKNOWN. Only class/era inference applies (ev-04).

- Limitations
- Absence of a located record is not proof no record exists; the 1997 recycling-disposal path left no retrievable hazmat-disclosure trail in located sources, and litigation-sweep coverage gaps are disclosed in ev-05.
