- Finding
- uboat.net's warship record corroborates the builder and dates (Defoe Shipbuilding Co., Bay City; laid down 17 June 1944; launched 30 June 1944; commissioned 7 July 1944) and lists this hull in the order of battle for Operation Oboe VI, the Allied landings at Brunei of 10 June 1945 - LCI(L)-1075 in Task Unit 78.1.20 (Reserve Unit) of Task Group 78.1 (Brunei Attack Group, Rear-Admiral F. - Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- CORRECTION / name-collision flag: COMINCH P-009 Table III lists 'LCI-1075 - H - 10 Dec.' under its (misprinted 'LGI') landing-craft-infantry section - i.e., records LCI-1075 as hit by a suicide plane on 10 December 1944. This almost certainly does NOT refer to this hull: the Group 72 war diary places USS LCI(L)-1075 at Woendi Lagoon throughout 1-16 December with no attack on her recorded, and NHHC's casualties list records LCT(6)-1075 - a tank landing craft carrying the same hull number - 'sunk off Leyte, Philippine Islands, 10 December 1944.' The COMINCH entry most plausibly reflects the LCT loss under a garbled type designator (the table's own section heading is misprinted), though the absence of a '(Sunk)' flag on the entry leaves the mislabeling inference unproven rather than certain.

- Limitations
- A correction of a circulating historical ambiguity, not an exposure or materials claim. Both competing records are official publications; the war-diary placement of LCI(L)-1075 at Woendi is the controlling fact against attribution to this hull. Read strictly on its own terms, the COMINCH entry is unresolved - flagged here so the 10 December kamikaze event is not silently attributed to this hull.

- Locator
- Defoe yard list row 328; LCI(L) block rows 305-351
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- The Defoe yard list maps this hull to builder's yard number 328 within Defoe's LCI(L) contract block (LCI(L) 1052-1098, yard numbers 305-351): 'LCI(L) 1075 / US Navy / Landing Craft / 236d / 158 / 1-Jul-44 / Struck 1946'. The block shows the production context of this hull among 47 Defoe-built LCI(L)s; several sisters were disposed to foreign navies (Chile, Argentina, Philippines, Korea, France) and two (1085 as Ticonderoga; 1091 as Bering Sea) had documented post-war merchant careers.

- asbestos_application
- Finding
- A welded-steel diesel-powered beaching craft built in June 1944 sits inside the Navy's documented asbestos-use era. With no boilers or steam plant, the asbestos-relevant systems aboard a craft of this type and period were era-standard diesel-craft applications: engine exhaust and muffler lagging, engine-space thermal and acoustic insulation, gaskets, valve packing, and electrical insulation within the confined machinery spaces. The LCI(L) design's small crew spaces, embarked troops of up to ~188, and beaching operations put crew and passengers in a compact hull volume in which any insulated machinery surfaces were in close proximity.

- Limitations
- Class/era inference only - no hull-specific insulation survey, material list, construction specification, or work package was located for LCI(L)-1075. Names era-standard applications, not confirmed installed materials; no quantity; no manufacturer attribution for this hull. The diesel plant eliminates the boiler/steam-line lagging pathway dominant on steam vessels; residual era pathways (exhaust lagging, gaskets, electrical) are asserted at type level only.
