- Finding
- NavSource identifies this hull as an LCI-351-class landing craft, laid down 15 May 1944 at Commercial Iron Works in Portland, Oregon; launched 11 June 1944; and commissioned USS LCI(L)-767 on 24 June 1944. It records reclassification to LCI(R)-767 on 15 March 1945, assignment to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, and participation in the Okinawa Gunto operation (26 March–30 June 1945). It states that the vessel was decommissioned on an unknown date, struck from the Naval Register in 1946, transferred to the Maritime Commission on 10 July 1947, and had an unknown final fate.

- Limitations
- The live page was fetched directly and returned HTTP 200 on 2026-09-30. NavSource is an archival compilation, not a Navy registry, and credits its history to a 1995 commercial publication. It is the only located source for the construction milestones, reclassification, campaign, striking, transfer, and fate. Its commissioning date matches the start of NARA-indexed log coverage, but that index is not an independent commissioning record. The page does not document asbestos content, individual exposure, or the actual crew complement.

- Limitations
- The NARA index was fetched directly and returned HTTP 200 on 2026-09-30. These dates describe indexed logbook coverage only; they do not independently establish commissioning, decommissioning, service events, or asbestos content. The underlying logs were not examined.

- Chapter XX, 'Asbestos-Glass Insulation Lagging Cloth' paragraph, printed page 156
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- The Bureau of Ships' wartime administrative history describes standard asbestos cloth and development of a glass-asbestos yarn used to make insulation lagging cloth that used less asbestos fiber. This is Navy material-development context from the World War II period.

- Limitations
- The underlying Navy history discusses material development generally; the live page is a third-party transcription, fetched directly and returned HTTP 200 on 2026-09-30. It does not name LCI(L)-767, LCI(R)-767, this class, or this builder and does not establish procurement, installation, asbestos quantity, or exposure aboard this hull.

- Locator
- Search-ledger entries sl-01 through sl-07
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos survey, material list, abatement record, or asbestos product identification for USS LCI(L)-767 / LCI(R)-767 was located in the limited sources reviewed for this record. The Firecrawl MCP search and scrape tools were unavailable because the service returned a keyless-quota exhaustion error with an 81,023-second retry interval.

- Search performed 2026-09-30
- Limitations
- This is a bounded negative search result, not evidence that asbestos was absent. Firecrawl web search/scrape was quota-blocked; a live NavSource hull page, NARA log index, Bureau of Ships history transcription, and one candidate NHHC page were checked directly. The underlying deck logs, Navy files, builder records, and conversion work package were not examined. CourtListener litigation review remains pending the authenticated helper's fleet-wide pacing window and is not classified as a no-result.
