    Finding
NavSource identifies USS LCI(L)-977 as an LCI-351-class Landing Craft Infantry (Large), laid down 15 March 1944 at Consolidated Steel Corp., Orange, Texas; launched 10 April 1944; and commissioned 5 May 1944. It lists Asiatic-Pacific service, four World War II battle stars, occupation and China service from 8 September to 16 December 1945, assignment to Joint Task Force 1 Task Unit 1.8.3 for Operation Crossroads in July 1946, and sale on 21 May 1949, with fate unknown. Its class specification block gives diesel propulsion and a complement of four officers and 24 enlisted personnel.

    USS LCI(L)-977 deck-log record series
    Limitations
The list is an index to deck-log coverage, not digitized log content or a material survey. It does not establish asbestos presence, product identity, exposure, or causation.

    Finding type

    Finding
NARA states that its U.S. Navy deck-log series is partially closed and that its digitization partnership focused on Vietnam-era logs. The reviewed public page did not supply digitized LCI(L)-977 logs.

    Limitations
A no-row NVR result is not proof that the vessel did not exist or that no other Navy record exists. NVR's coverage limitation is separately documented in ev-05. This result says nothing about asbestos.

  7. [7]CourtListener authenticated v4 search through cl-auth-search.py: exact-hull opinion query returned count 0; remaining exact-name and docket queries blocked by fleet pacing [court_record]
    Locator
Exact-hull opinion response: count 0; helper diagnostics: COURTLISTENER PACING for remaining exact-name and docket queries
    Finding type
    litigation_documented
    Finding
The authenticated CourtListener v4 opinion search for the exact hull designation "LCI(L)-977" returned zero results. The required exact-name opinion/docket queries and the exact-hull docket query were also submitted through the mandated helper, but the fleet-wide pacing limiter exhausted its momentary budget before those results returned. No CourtListener hit is classified as asbestos litigation or other litigation evidence.

    Limitations
Only the exact-hull opinion query is a no-result search. The remaining required queries are an access limitation, not negative results. No pleading, discovery record, trial finding, or judgment was retrieved or classified.

    Finding type
    asbestos_application
    Finding
No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, material specification, procurement record, hazmat disclosure, or qualifying litigation record was located in the reviewed public sources for USS LCI(L)-977. Asbestos documentation aboard this hull is unknown.

    Population
Publicly accessible vessel and litigation sources reviewed
    Limitations
This is a bounded public-source negative finding, not proof that asbestos was absent. CourtListener was blocked before results were returned, so litigation coverage is incomplete; no class or construction-era inference is used to assert asbestos aboard this hull.
