- Finding
- NavSource's ship page records that LCS(L)(3)-19 was laid down 4 September 1944 at George Lawley & Sons Corp., Neponset, Massachusetts; launched 11 September 1944; and commissioned 7 October 1944, Ens. F. N. Woods III, USNR, in command. It assigns the hull to LCS(L)(3) Flotilla Three, Group Eight, Division Sixteen; lists Okinawa Gunto (26 March-25 June 1945) and Tsushima Straits minesweeping (6-10 November 1945); records Far East occupation service from 2 September 1945 to 15 February 1946; two WWII battle stars; redesignation as LSSL-19 on 28 February 1949; and sale for scrapping to Dulien Steel Products, Seattle, 29 December 1950. Its specifications give two shafts, each driven by a quad pack of four General Motors 6051-series 71 diesel engines, 1,600 bhp, with diesel-driven generators and variable-pitch propellers.

- George Lawley construction workforce (1944); commissioned crew; WWII and occupation-service crew
- Limitations
- NavSource is a live volunteer compilation rather than an official registry; its page cites published and builder specification sources. It documents identity, service and diesel machinery, not asbestos content, individual exposure, quantities, or legal eligibility. The page says decommissioned and struck dates are unknown.

- Highlights; Navy's policy on use of asbestos
- Finding type
- gov_survey
- Finding
- GAO's Navy-wide 1979 review states that Navy ships contained asbestos in components including clutches and electric cables and that thermal insulation had been the Navy's major shipboard use; it describes 1975 and 1979 Navy insulation-removal policies. This supplies program and era context only for a 1944 Navy vessel.

- Population
- Navy shipyard workers and Navy ships reviewed by GAO
- Limitations
- Navy-wide program evidence, not a survey or material list for LCS(L)(3)-19. It does not establish that any asbestos-containing component or insulation was installed, retained, removed, or disturbed aboard this hull, and it does not establish individual exposure, causation, quantity, or eligibility. Direct automated retrieval of the GAO page returned HTTP 403; its current official product-page and report text were verified through the available live-web retrieval fallback.

[4]Batch-5687 search ledger: live NavSource vessel page; official GAO HRD-80-2 product/report retrieval; CourtListener API v4 authenticated helper attempts [other_primary]

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No public ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, hazmat disclosure, or other direct asbestos documentation was located for USS LCS(L)(3)-19 / LSSL-19 in the completed source sweep. Authenticated CourtListener API v4 searches for the exact name and hull designation were initiated through the required fleet helper but did not return before the shared pacing limiter stalled; they are an access gap, not a no-result or litigation finding.

- Limitations
- Absence of a located public record does not prove absence of asbestos aboard. CourtListener is incomplete: no case classification can be made until the exact-name and hull-number requests obtain API responses. This result does not establish or defeat any exposure, causation, or legal-eligibility claim.
