    Finding
The hull archive identifies USS LCS(L)(3)-7 as a LCS(L)(3)-1-class Landing Craft Support (Large) (Mark 3), built by George Lawley & Sons Corp. at Neponset, Massachusetts: laid down 31 July 1944, launched 9 August 1944, and commissioned 29 August 1944 with LT Franklin L. Elder, USNR, in command. It assigns her to LCS(L)(3) Flotilla One, Group One, Division One; lists Luzon and Manila Bay-Bicol operations; states she was sunk at Mariveles Harbor, Philippines, on 16 February 1945; and lists two World War II battle stars. Its specifications describe an all-diesel plant, not propulsion boilers: two quad packs of four General Motors 6051-series 71 diesel engines per shaft, GM reduction gears, twin variable-pitch propellers, and two diesel-driven 60-kW 450-V AC service generators.

Lawley construction trades (1944); commissioned crew (1944-1945)
    Limitations
NavSource is a volunteer archival compilation, not an official Navy registry; this page is used for its hull-specific chronology and identifies its specification sources as Lawley class instructions and original plans. It contains no asbestos survey, material list, exposure finding, or legal finding. The listed complement is not carried because the batch rule requires DANFS/NHHC verification and no individual DANFS entry was located.

    Limitations
This is an inventory of logbook holdings, not a review of log contents and not evidence of commissioning, asbestos, material composition, exposure, injury, or causation. The listed end date does not describe the vessel's 1945 loss.

    Finding
The association history, submitted by LCS personnel including David Demeter, identifies LCS 7's commissioning at the Lawley yard on 29 August 1944, her Flotilla One assignment, and her crew training at Little Creek, Virginia, and Solomons, Maryland. It recounts operations at San Antonio, Luzon (29 January 1945), Subic Bay and Grande Island (31 January), and Mariveles Harbor (15-16 February), and states that LCS 7 was sunk in the 16 February suicide-boat and shore-fire attack.

LCS 7 crew; Flotilla One personnel
    Limitations
This is a retrospective association/participant history hosted by a volunteer archive, not an official operational report. It provides no asbestos or material documentation. Its casualty total is for LCS 7, 26, and 49 collectively and is therefore not used as a hull-specific casualty figure.

    Finding
NARA describes asbestos research for U.S. Navy materiel from 1941 through 1961 as complex and directs researchers to hull-, class-, yard-, and component-level Bureau of Ships records, including RG 19 correspondence, General Information Books, and specification files. LCS(L)(3)-7's 1944 construction falls inside that research period.

    Limitations
The guide is research-method context only. It does not say that LCS(L)(3)-7 contained asbestos, identify a product or location aboard her, establish exposure, or support a legal claim. No hull-specific RG 19 record was retrieved.

    Locator
    search_ledger rows sl-01 through sl-07
    Finding type
    historical_record
    Finding
No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, material specification, or qualifying asbestos litigation was located in the reviewed public NARA/NHHC/Navy and association-archive sources. The required authenticated CourtListener exact-name and hull-number searches were initiated only through the mandated v4 helper but the fleet-wide pacing limiter did not return results; CourtListener coverage is therefore incomplete and this row is not a CourtListener no-result finding.

    Limitations
A limited public-source negative does not prove absence of asbestos or absence of exposure. CourtListener results are pending/blocked by shared pacing, not negative; no anonymous or v3 request was made. Firecrawl was quota-blocked before searches could run, so direct live-page fallback was used for the cited sources.
