- Finding
- LCS(L)(3)-97 was laid down 18 December 1944 at Commercial Iron Works, Portland, OR; launched 6 January 1945; and commissioned USS LCS(L)(3)-97 on 29 January 1945, LT. R. H. - Population
- Crew: 6 officers and 65 enlisted (class specification)
- Limitations
- Establishes this hull's identity, timeline, service, and stated disposition. It contains no asbestos, insulation-material, survey, abatement, exposure, or causation information. NavSource is an archival reference rather than a government vessel register; its explicitly unknown decommissioning and strike dates are retained as unknown.

[3]Shipbuilding History (Tim Colton), Commercial Iron Works, Portland OR yard table [other_primary]
- Locator
- Commercial Iron Works table, row 209: LCS(L) 97
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- Commercial Iron Works' yard table identifies LCS(L) 97 as yard hull 209, a 250-ton, 159-foot U.S. Navy landing craft delivered 29 January 1945 and scrapped in 1951. This independently corroborates the builder, delivery/commissioning date, and 1951 scrapping reported by NavSource.

- WWII shipyard workers and ship crews (era context)
- Limitations
- Era-level context only: it does not name this vessel, its class, or landing craft, and cannot establish asbestos aboard this hull, any product, quantity, location, condition, exposure, causation, or legal eligibility. [5]CourtListener API v4 authenticated searches, executed only through /Users/charlesfletcher/devin-prompts/cl-auth-search.py [court_record]
- Locator
- search_ledger rows sl-uss-lcs-l-3-97-05 through sl-uss-lcs-l-3-97-07
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- CourtListener authenticated API v4 searches returned zero results for the exact vessel name USS LCS(L)(3)-97 in opinions and for the alternate hull designation LSSL-97 in dockets. The exact-name docket query was not completed because the fleet pacing limiter denied a token before any CourtListener API request. No qualifying asbestos litigation is documented by the completed queries; the blocked query remains open.

- Limitations
- Zero-result queries establish only that those completed authenticated searches returned no results. They do not prove no litigation, asbestos aboard the hull, exposure, causation, or legal eligibility. The incomplete docket search is expressly not reported as a no-result finding.

- Locator
- search_ledger rows sl-uss-lcs-l-3-97-01 through sl-uss-lcs-l-3-97-08
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement contract, hazmat disclosure, or qualifying asbestos case naming LCS(L)(3)-97 / LSSL-97 was located in the completed public-source searches recorded in this record's search ledger.

- Limitations
- A completed-search negative is not proof of material absence. Direct Firecrawl research could not run after its quota was exhausted, and one required CourtListener query was limiter-blocked; both gaps are preserved. This finding does not establish asbestos absence, exposure, causation, or legal eligibility.
