[3]NavSource Online, USS LSM-127 service, disposition, and awards lines [other_primary]
- Locator
- History bullets, awards block, and final-disposition line
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- During World War II USS LSM-127 served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the Palawan Islands landings, 28 February to 1 March 1945. It then served in Far East occupation service from 10 September to 30 November 1945, was decommissioned 22 March 1946 at Charleston Naval Station, was transferred to the Maritime Commission for disposal, and was sold for scrapping 27 February 1948 to Southeastern Pipe Line Co., Atlanta, Ga. NavSource states that the Naval Register strike date is unknown and credits one World War II battle star.

[5]U.S. Government Accountability Office, Navy Efforts To Protect Workers From Asbestos Exposure, HRD-80-2 [gao]
- Locator
- GAO product page; full report text was not retrievable because the site returned HTTP 403
- Finding type
- gov_survey
- Finding
- GAO's Navy asbestos-control report, HRD-80-2, is program-level context for the Navy shipyard and fleet era that followed this hull's 1944 construction and 1944-46 service; it does not identify USS LSM-127 or a component aboard it.

- Study period

- Population
- Navy shipyard workers and Navy asbestos-control program
- Limitations
- Program-level context only, not a hull-specific finding. The accessible product page does not identify this ship, a particular material, an exposure event, or a quantity; no ship-specific asbestos inference is made from it.

[6]Batch-5927 public-source and litigation search ledger [other_primary]
- Locator
- search_ledger rows sl-uss-lsm-127-lsm127-01 through -08
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, hazmat disclosure, material list, or asbestos litigation record naming USS LSM-127 was located in the public sources searched. This is a negative search result, not proof that asbestos was absent from the vessel.

- Role
- negative_finding
- Documentation level
- ship_specific
- Accessed
- 2026-10-01
- Study period
- 2026-10-01
- Limitations
- NavSource was directly verified; NHHC's LSM-127 photo URL was unavailable (HTTP 404/502), GAO returned HTTP 403, and CourtListener throttled the authenticated helper after the first exact-name opinion request, so the remaining litigation queries are an access gap. Absence of a located record does not establish absence of asbestos, defeat an exposure claim, or establish legal eligibility.
