    Limitations
The index establishes the listed date coverage of the deck logs, not the contents of the logs. NARA states that deck logs can help identify periods of ship work but do not identify asbestos or other materials aboard.

    Finding
NARA identifies Bureau of Ships records in Record Group 19, including ship specifications, hull-numbered engineering drawings, and insulation and lagging records, as research avenues for ship-specific asbestos inquiries. NARA cautions that deck logs and muster rolls do not directly establish whether asbestos was used aboard a vessel.

    Limitations
This is a research guide, not evidence that LST-1063 or any particular LST contained asbestos. The underlying Record Group 19 material was not obtained or reviewed for this batch.

No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, material schedule, or other direct asbestos documentation for LST-1063 was located in the sources reviewed for this batch.

    Limitations
This is a bounded negative finding, not proof that asbestos was absent. CourtListener searching was incomplete after the authenticated helper reported that the fleet-wide pacing budget was momentarily spent. Firecrawl was unavailable because its keyless MCP quota was exhausted. Relevant NARA Bureau of Ships files and ship-specific material records were not obtained.
