- Finding
- The official BuShips roster names this hull: 'LST1107' row in the Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron block shows keel laid 13 Dec 44, ship launched 29 Jan 45, date of first commission 21 Feb 45 - matching DANFS. The design table for group LST542-931 (which includes 1107) gives 328 ft oa, 50 ft beam, 2,366 t light / 4,080 t trial displacement, 11.6 kt, two GM Diesel 12-567A engines, 1,700 shp.

[6]Shipbuilding History (Tim Colton), Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron yard table, Evansville IN - hull 164 row and yard history [other_primary]
- Locator
- missourivalley.htm yard table, row 164; yard-history preamble
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- The yard production table's row 164 lists LST-1107: keel 12/13/44, launched 1/29/45, delivered 2/21/45 - 47 days on the ways, 23 in the water, 70 total - matching DANFS dates; disposition column reads 'Scrapped 1947.' Yard context: the Missouri Valley Bridge & Iron plant at Evansville was built for the war effort, produced 171 LSTs, was destroyed by fire in 1946, and is now a parking lot with the ways still visible at low water.

[7]Consolidated era inference - BuShips SDB-1945 v2 machinery data for group LST542-931 (two GM 12-567A diesels, no boilers) + LST-1-class profile asbestos inference (class-f/lst-1-class.class.json ev-lst-1-class-03) + era amphibious-ship construction practice [other_primary]

- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- Era/design inference for a diesel-powered LST of the 1944-45 build era: no boilers - the steam lagging pathway does not apply. Asbestos-relevant applications aboard a ship of this type and period were GM diesel exhaust lagging and gaskets, engine-room thermal/acoustic insulation, deck coverings/tile, bulkhead and accommodation insulation, and winch/crane brake linings. This hull was never converted (no ARL/AGP/ARB interior rework) and served only Feb 1945 - May 1946 before sale in Feb 1947, so the postwar conversion and repeated-overhaul pathways documented for longer-lived class members do not apply.

- Finding
- No opinion text and no RECAP docket on CourtListener mention 'LST-1107' (type=o and type=r searches, both 0 hits). This hull was hull-number-only - no vessel name exists to collide with - so a hull-number sweep has high precision. Litigation status: no qualifying asbestos litigation located naming this hull.

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos record located: no asbestos survey, abatement contract, hazmat disclosure, material schedule, or docketed case naming USS LST-1107 was found in the public sources searched (see search_ledger). The hull's short life (commissioned Feb 1945, sold Feb 1947, never converted, never mothballed in a digitized reserve-fleet record located) leaves a thin public trail.

- Limitations
- Absence of a located public record does not prove absence of asbestos aboard - era-consistent construction implies era-standard materials. Deck logs (RG 24), builder's records for the Evansville yard, and the 1947 sale/operation or scrapping documentation are undigitized leads. Does not establish or defeat any claim of exposure or legal eligibility.
