- vessel_history
- Finding
- NHHC's DANFS entry states that LST-219 was laid down on 18 February 1943 at Seneca, Illinois, by Chicago Bridge & Iron Co.; launched on 27 July 1943; sponsored by Mrs. Anthony F. Nosek; commissioned on 19 August 1943; served in the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the Guam operation in July 1944 and Leyte landings in October 1944; performed occupation duty in the Far East until mid-December 1946; was decommissioned on 29 November 1948, struck from the Navy list on 22 December 1948, and sold to Foss Launch & Tug Co. on 25 February 1949. The entry states that it earned two World War II battle stars.

- Limitations
- The official NHHC URL returned HTTP 404 on 2026-10-02. Search indexing exposed the DANFS entry text, but no live or archived page copy could be verified in this session. Claims are limited to that indexed text. No inference is made about later disposition, present location, machinery, crew complement, or asbestos.

- Population
- USS LST-219 deck-log record series
- Limitations
- The finding establishes the listed date coverage of the deck-log series, not the log contents, asbestos materials, individual exposure, or causation. The listed end date is not evidence that logs after that date do not exist.

- Locator
- search_ledger rows sl-uss-lst-219-lst219-01 through -07
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos documentation was located in the sources reviewed. The available NHHC DANFS text and National Archives deck-log listing do not identify asbestos aboard LST-219. This search result does not establish that asbestos was absent.

- Population
- USS LST-219 and its crew
- Limitations
- This is a bounded public-source search result, not proof of absence. The NHHC entry contains no asbestos statement; Firecrawl could not be used because its hosted keyless quota was exhausted, the CourtListener sweep was interrupted by fleet pacing, and no asbestos-specific ship survey or material schedule was retrieved. Individual exposure, dose, and causation are not established.
