- Finding
- DANFS states LST-4 was laid down 4 July 1942 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, by Dravo Corp.; launched 9 October 1942; sponsored by Mrs. J. Bartolo; and commissioned 14 February 1943. During World War II it served in the European theater and participated in the Sicilian occupation (July 1943), Salerno landings (September 1943), west coast of Italy operations and Anzio-Nettuno advanced landings (January and February 1944; June 1944), and the invasion of southern France (August and September 1944). DANFS says it was decommissioned sometime after the war, struck from the Navy list 19 June 1946, sold to Boston Metals Co. for scrapping 10 September 1947, and earned four battle stars.

- BATCH-6941-REPORT.md, research gaps and access limitations
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos survey, material schedule, abatement record, or asbestos litigation record was verified in the sources accessed for this batch. This is a bounded negative search result; it does not establish that asbestos was absent aboard LST-4.

- Limitations
- CourtListener exact-name and hull-number searches were not completed: the authenticated helper twice returned fleet pacing stand-down guidance and instructed the researcher not to retry in a loop. Firecrawl MCP was also quota-blocked. This finding must not be read as a completed litigation sweep or proof of absence.
