    Finding
NARA Special List 44, a ship-number index to Navy deck logs, lists two LST-793 entries with the date range 5 October 1944 through 30 June 1945. This identifies a federal archival path for operational records during the ship's commissioned service.

    Finding
GAO's 1979 review states that it examined Navy use of asbestos in Navy ships and the costs of removing it, and describes the Navy's 1975 and 1979 asbestos-insulation replacement policies. This is Navy-wide context, not a record for LST-793.

    Limitations
This review concerned Long Beach and Norfolk Naval Shipyards decades after LST-793's 1946 decommissioning. It neither names nor establishes asbestos aboard LST-793, and establishes no exposure, quantity, product, condition, or causation for this hull.

    Limitations
This is a bounded search result, not proof that asbestos was absent aboard the hull. CourtListener exact-name and hull-number searches were not completed because its authenticated API instructed a 10.6-hour daily-quota stand-down; litigation is therefore not included in this negative finding.

    Finding
The required CourtListener sweep for exact name USS LST-793 and hull number LST-793 could not be performed. The authenticated helper returned DAILY QUOTA EXHAUSTED for opinion and docket requests and directed a 38,216-second (about 10.6-hour) stand-down; no further requests were made.
