    Finding
DANFS records that LST-924 was laid down 8 May 1944 at Hingham, Massachusetts, by the Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard, Inc.; launched 17 June 1944; and commissioned 10 July 1944. During World War II she was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the Leyte landing (November 1944), the Lingayen Gulf landings (January 1945), the Visayan Island landings (March and April 1945), and the Tarakan Island operation (April and May 1945). After the war she performed occupation duty in the Far East and China service until mid-May 1946; was decommissioned 13 June 1946; struck from the Navy list 3 July 1946; and on 5 May 1947 was sold to the Royal Navy of Thailand, operating as Angthong (LST-1). LST-924 earned four battle stars for World War II service.

NavSource's LST-924 page records the same milestones with additional detail: commissioned 10 July 1944 with LT. Leeland Tinsley USN in command (served to January 1946; succeeded by LTjg. C. R. Johnston USNR, January-13 June 1946); campaign table dates - Leyte landings 5-18 November 1944, Lingayen Gulf landings 4-18 January 1945, Visayan Island 18 March and 29 March-1 April 1945, Tarakan Island operation 27 April-5 May 1945; Navy Occupation Service Medal periods 28 September-10 October 1945, 29 October-9 November 1945, and 30 December 1945-18 May 1946; China Service Medal (extended) 30 December 1945-18 May 1946. Photo captions document LST-924 beached with USS LST-1025 at Tarakan Island, Borneo, 1 May 1945 (Australian War Memorial photo OG2476, unloading No. 61 Airfield Construction Wing RAAF equipment) and moored pierside at Shanghai, China, circa 23 January 1946.

The Bethlehem-Hingham yard production table at shipbuildinghistory.com records LST-924 as yard hull number 3394 (FY 1943 program), keel laid 8 May 1944, launched 17 June 1944, delivered 10 July 1944 - 40 days on the ways, 23 days in the water, 63 days total - with disposition noted 'To Thailand 1947.' The same page documents the yard itself: built in 1941 with $35 million of Navy funding for destroyer-escort construction, 16 ways, managed by Bethlehem's Quincy yard, peak employment over 23,000, closed and liquidated after the war.

    Finding
A Royal Thai Naval Dockyard Journal article (2013) identifies the second HTMS Angthong, hull number 711, as 'formerly USS LST-924 of the United States,' a large Landing Ship Tank built in 1944 that earned Four Battle Stars in World War II, was handed over to Thailand in 1947, and 'served for 49 years until decommissioned in 2006.' The article (about the replacement Endurance-class HTMS Angthong, hull 791, delivered 2012) notes the five large landing ships of the old Angthong group were all decommissioned, the last being HTMS Prathong on 5 June 2008.

Era/design inference for a diesel-powered 1944 LST-542-class hull: with no boilers, asbestos-relevant applications concentrate in GM diesel exhaust lagging and gaskets, engine-room thermal/acoustic insulation, electrical insulation and cable, deck coverings, bulkhead and accommodation insulation, valve packing, and winch/crane brake linings. The hull's diesel plant (NavSource specification block) eliminates the boiler/steam-lagging pathway but not the engine-room, electrical, covering, and friction pathways.

No qualifying ship-specific asbestos litigation record was established in this sweep. The required authenticated CourtListener helper was invoked for an exact-name opinion search ('USS LST-924'); the shared CourtListener server reported daily quota exhaustion and a requested wait of approximately 7.9 hours before returning results. The remaining matrix queries (exact-name docket; exact-hull 'LST-924' opinion and docket) were not dispatched, per the helper's stand-down guidance. The litigation result is therefore incomplete, not a no-result finding.
