- Finding
- NHHC states that LST-969 was laid down on 10 November 1944 at Hingham, Massachusetts, by Bethlehem-Hingham Shipyard, Inc.; launched on 13 December 1944; and commissioned on 9 January 1945. Following World War II it performed logistic services between Hawaii and the U.S. west coast in 1945 and 1946 while assigned to the Pacific Fleet. It was decommissioned on 12 July 1946, struck from the Navy list on 15 August 1946, and sold to Trailer-ships, Inc., for operation on 25 April 1947.

- Limitations
- This is a finding aid for deck logs, not the logs themselves. It confirms a record series and coverage dates only; it does not establish events, exposures, asbestos materials, or crew complement aboard.

[4]Research log for this record: NHHC DANFS, National Archives finding aids, NavSource archive page; authenticated CourtListener helper (one exact-name opinion query, then multi-hour quota stop); Firecrawl MCP (free quota exhausted before searches could run) [other_primary]

- Research log and search_ledger rows sl-uss-lst-969-lst969-04 through sl-uss-lst-969-lst969-07
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, hazmat disclosure, asbestos-containing product record, or qualifying asbestos-litigation hit was located in the sources completed for this record. The CourtListener sweep is incomplete: the authenticated exact-name opinion request was made, but the helper reported a 6.8-hour quota wait before the required hull-number and docket-index searches could be completed. Firecrawl searching was unavailable because the keyless MCP quota was exhausted.

- Limitations
- This is a bounded negative finding, not proof that asbestos was absent or that no litigation exists. CourtListener results are not classified as no result because the required paired exact-name/hull-number and opinion/docket sweep could not be completed. The Firecrawl access block is a research gap, not a negative search result. No exposure, causation, or legal eligibility conclusion follows.
