   Identity packet verdict: VERIFIED (designation) — hull never built. Tacoma-class patrol frigate authorized as patrol gunboat PG-206; reclassified PF-98 on 15 April 1943 (USCG records say 13 April 1943 — minor conflict). Construction contract (American Shipbuilding Co., Lorain OH; MC Type S2-S2-AQ1) cancelled 31 December 1943 before keel laid. Never commissioned; no other identity borne. The name Milledgeville was reassigned 7 February 1944 to ex-Sitka PF-94 (in service 1945-46); a third Milledgeville (PC-1263, renamed 1956) also exists.
