- Finding
- The NavSource entry identifies PC-1127 as a PC-461-class submarine chaser built by Defoe Shipbuilding Corp. at Bay City, Michigan; laid down 7 September 1942; launched 2 November 1942; commissioned 29 May 1943; reclassified as control submarine chaser PCC-1127 on 20 August 1945; decommissioned 4 December 1946; struck from the Naval Register 22 January 1947; transferred to the War Shipping Administration in July 1948; and of unknown fate. It lists two 1,440 bhp General Motors diesel engines and a complement of 65.

- Limitations
- NavSource is a naval-history reference archive, not the original Navy record; the live NHHC search surfaced no ship-specific DANFS history, and the NHHC URLs discovered for contextual records returned 404 when checked directly. The entry does not document asbestos or establish current location, retained materials, exposure, or legal eligibility.

- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, or other direct asbestos documentation for USS PC-1127 was located in the sources accessible during this review. The ship-specific asbestos status and products aboard are unknown.

- Limitations
- A search result is not proof that no record exists. Authenticated CourtListener exact-name searching began but its helper reported a 13,922-second (~3.9-hour) wait; the hull-number CourtListener query was therefore not attempted. Firecrawl was unavailable after keyless quota exhaustion. NARA holdings and inaccessible NHHC material remain research leads; no inference is made from class, era, or propulsion.
