[2]NavSource Naval History, Submarine Chaser Photo Archive, PC-1207, live hull page [other_primary]
- Locator
- PC-1207 hull page, chronology and specifications blocks
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- NavSource's live PC-1207 hull page identifies this vessel as a PC-461-class submarine chaser with call sign Nan-Queen-Mike-Able. It states that Consolidated Shipbuilding Co. at Morris Heights, New York laid the vessel down on 26 June 1943; launched it on 18 August 1943; commissioned USS PC-1207 on 12 November 1943; decommissioned it at Norfolk, Virginia on 10 January 1946; and struck it from the Naval Register on 13 November 1946. It further states that the vessel was transferred on 23 June 1948 to the War Shipping Administration, sold to Wilson Lines, Inc. of Boston and renamed Sea Belle. The page gives 450-ton displacement, 173 feet 8 inches length, 23-foot beam, 10 feet 10 inches draft, 20.2-knot speed, one 3-inch/50 dual-purpose mount, one 40mm mount, five 20mm guns, two rocket launchers, two depth-charge tracks, and two 1,440 bhp Hooven-Owen-Rentschler R-99DA diesel engines with Westinghouse single-reduction gear on two shafts. It states that no DANFS history is available for PC-1207.

- Population
- Consolidated Shipbuilding construction workers (1943); U.S. Navy crew (1943-1946); commercial conversion and operating workforce (1948 onward)
- Limitations
- NavSource is a volunteer naval-history photo/archive compilation rather than a Navy material record; dates and specifications are carried as reported. It does not document asbestos, asbestos-containing products, crew exposure, repair scope, or present hulk condition. The page's complement figure is not carried because it cannot be verified against DANFS/NHHC.

- Special List 44, PC-1207 row: 11/12/1943-2/28/1945
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- The National Archives' Special List 44, by Ship Numbers, lists PC-1207 with deck-log coverage beginning 12 November 1943 and ending 28 February 1945. The start date matches the NavSource commissioning date. The entry supplies an archival lead for contemporaneous operational records for this hull.

- Population
- U.S. Navy crew recorded in deck logs
- Limitations
- The list identifies deck-log coverage, not the contents of the logs. Underlying logs were not retrieved in this batch, and coverage after February 1945 is not shown in this list. The entry does not establish asbestos presence, an exposure, or litigation facts.

- Guide sections: General Information Books (RG 19 Entry P 12 Patrol Craft GIBs); Material Inspection Reports (RG 38 Entry P 1-E); Cartographic Branch Hull Series S39 insulation and lagging drawings
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- The National Archives asbestos-research guide identifies record groups and series relevant to pre-1961 Navy-vessel asbestos research, including RG 19 Entry P 12, Patrol Craft General Information Books [Item S-68], 1902-1955; RG 38 Entry P 1-E, Patrol Craft Material Inspection Reports and Related Documentation, 1940-1978; ship and machinery specifications; and S39 insulation-and-lagging drawings within the hull-numbered Hull Series of ship engineering drawings. These are archival leads for possible hull-level material documentation for a patrol craft, not evidence that asbestos was aboard PC-1207.

[5]Batch-7703 search ledger for USS PC-1207 / PC-1207 [other_primary]
- Locator
- search_ledger rows sl-uss-pc-1207-pc1207-01 through sl-uss-pc-1207-pc1207-07
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No qualifying ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, hazmat disclosure, product record, or completed litigation result was identified in the accessible public sources searched for USS PC-1207 and PC-1207. An asbestos-keyed web sweep surfaced no qualifying vessel content. This is a negative finding about the non-CourtListener sources reviewed, not a finding that asbestos was absent aboard the vessel.

- Limitations
- Absence of a located public record does not prove absence of asbestos aboard. The required authenticated CourtListener exact-name and hull-number sweep was blocked by the fleet's shared daily-quota stand-down before the first query completed, so no conclusion about qualifying litigation can be drawn from that unavailable repository.
