    Limitations
NavSource is a volunteer-compiled archival source (site states 'There is no DANFS history available for SC-752' - accurate only as to the missing individual entry; the DANFS compilation list covers her). NavSource's own wording is internally loose ('Commissioned USS SC-752 ... Reclassified SC-752 in April 1943' plus an 'ex-PC-752' tag); the consistent reading is commissioning as PC-752 on 13 Feb 1943 with the SC designation effective April 1943. Specifications, complement, speed, and the 7 Oct 1955 disposal date are unverified against a primary source. No asbestos content.

    Finding
NARA's Special List 44 (ship-number ordering) lists logbooks for SC-752 covering 2/13/1943 - 8/16/1945: coverage begins the day of commissioning and ends the day before the documented Soviet transfer of 17 August 1945 - independent archival corroboration of the U.S. Navy service window. The logs are the undigitized primary record of her operational history.

    Limitations
A holdings listing, not the logs themselves: establishes that deck logs exist at NARA (Archives II, College Park) and their coverage dates, not their contents. SC-752's logs are not among the digitized deck logs online in the National Archives Catalog; wartime small-craft logs vary in detail. No asbestos content.

Appendix 'U.S. Navy Combatant Ships Transferred May-September 1945' table (SC block); chapters 'A Mission of Higher Classification,' 'The End of the Pacific War'
    Finding type
    vessel_history
    Finding
The official Naval Historical Center monograph on Project Hula names this hull in its Appendix transfer table: 'SC 752 / BO-325 / 17 Aug. / 1955-stricken' - confirming transfer to the Soviet navy on 17 August 1945 as BO-325 with Soviet disposition 'stricken 1955.' The monograph documents the transfer program at Cold Bay, Alaska: Navy Detachment 3294 trained ~15,000 Soviet personnel and transferred 149 ships in 142 days; wooden-hulled vessels 'such as the motor minesweepers and subchasers' frequently suffered hull damage requiring 400-mile round trips to Dutch Harbor for repairs; the 'trouble-plagued subchaser program' required substitute boats drawn from the 13th Naval District. SC-752 was in the largest single transfer group - eleven subchasers on 17 August 1945 (SC-538, 643, 752, 754, 774, 997, 1007, 1011, 1031, 1364, 1365).

    Population
Soviet transfer crews and U.S. Navy Detachment 3294 at Cold Bay (Aug 1945)
    Limitations
Ship-specific as to the transfer table entry; the program narrative is program-level context. The appendix records Soviet disposition '1955-stricken' - consistent with NavSource's 7 October 1955 out-of-service/scrapping. Transfers were effected by decommissioning the ships to Soviet custody at Cold Bay; the monograph does not give hull-by-hull departure convoys, so SC-752's exact Cold Bay departure date is Soviet-side secondary sourcing only. No asbestos content.

CORRECTION: intake metadata carried this vessel as 'USS PC-752,' PC-461 class. One hull, two designations - not a PC-461-class ship: PC-752 was a patrol-craft hull number assigned to a 110-foot wooden submarine-chaser build at Robinson Marine; she commissioned 13 February 1943 and was reclassified SC-752 in April 1943 (NavSource), sailing her entire U.S. career and Soviet transfer under the SC designation. Canonical record name is SC-752, SC-497 class.

Corrects a designation/class misattribution in the intake record, not a materials claim. Whether she was ever ordered to the 173-foot PC-461 design vs. ordered directly as a subchaser under a PC program number is unresolved in the sources checked (NavSource sister tags show the same ex-PC pattern for SC-497, SC-751, SC-754).

Era inference: a wooden-hulled, diesel-powered 1942-43 submarine chaser carried no boilers or steam lines, so the boiler/turbine lagging pathway of steam vessels does not apply. Plausible era-standard asbestos applications aboard a craft of this type and period are diesel-exhaust lagging, machinery insulation within the engine space, exhaust and flange gaskets, valve packing, electrical insulation, and deck coverings - a materially narrower product set than on steam combatants.

Class/era inference only - no hull-specific insulation survey, material list, build specification, or work package was located for SC-752. Names plausible era-standard applications, not confirmed installed materials; no quantity, no manufacturer attribution. The wooden hull and two-diesel plant narrow, but do not eliminate, the era-consistent asbestos case.

Family-published transcription of wartime letters names a crewmember of this hull and places her in the Pacific: 'Jane wrote this letter almost six months later from San Pedro, California to Leo who was by then serving on the sub-chaser, USS SC 752, stationed in the Pacific' - i.e., circa February 1944 (marriage 14 Aug 1943, letter ~six months later). The footnotes record Leo's expected discharge 'in April' (context: April 1945). The only operational-theater detail located for this hull: Pacific service 1944-45, consistent with her Cold Bay transfer path.

Family transcription on a personal site, not an official record - establishes a named crewmember (Leo Marx) and Pacific stationing circa 1944, nothing more: no ports, no operations, no materials information. Crewmember discharge ~April 1945 predates the August 1945 Soviet transfer. No asbestos content.

    Finding
No qualifying ship-specific asbestos record located: no asbestos survey, abatement contract, hazmat disclosure, museum record (none can exist - the hull was scrapped in the USSR in 1955), or qualifying litigation naming SC-752 or PC-752 was found in the public sources searched. Both 'SC-752' CourtListener base queries completed: 10 opinion hits and 19 docket hits, ALL name collisions (court docket numbers '94-SC-752-MR', '96-SC-752-KB', Alabama 'SC 752', Indiana '48C05-2606-SC-000752', bankruptcy-docket text matches; nothing vessel-related, none qualifying). The two 'PC-752' base queries (opinion and docket) could not be completed this session - the fleet-wide pace budget stayed saturated through ~2.5 hours of spaced retries; logged as blocked in search_ledger, not as a negative result.

Absence of a located public record does not prove absence of asbestos aboard - era-consistent inference remains open. Litigation status is partially open: 'SC-752' is clean on both CourtListener indexes (collisions only), but the 'PC-752' designation went unsearched (blocked, not clean). The NARA deck logs (coverage 2/13/1943-8/16/1945), builder records of Robinson Marine Construction Co., and any Lend-Lease transfer manifests are undigitized leads. Does not establish or defeat any claim of exposure or legal eligibility.
