- Finding
- NHHC DANFS records Quick (DD-490) as laid down by Federal Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. at Kearny, New Jersey, on 3 November 1941; launched 3 May 1942; and commissioned 3 July 1942. It served in Atlantic convoy escort and Operation Torch, supported the Sicily landings, and returned to escort duty. It entered Charleston Naval Shipyard on 13 June 1945 for conversion to a destroyer-minesweeper; the conversion was effective 23 June and completed 2 August 1945, after which the ship was designated DMS-32. Quick served in the Pacific, was reported to the Commander, Pacific Reserve Fleet on 1 March 1949, and decommissioned 28 May 1949. It was reclassified DD-490 on 15 July 1955 and remained with the Pacific Reserve Fleet into 1970. DANFS credits four World War II battle stars and gives a design complement of 276.

- Population
- Navy construction workers and crew; DANFS design complement 276
- Limitations
- This is a ship history, not an asbestos survey, material specification, or exposure record. DANFS does not establish asbestos presence, products, quantities, individual exposure, or final disposition after the ship remained in reserve into 1970.

[3]Benson/Gleaves-class class profile, Benson/Gleaves destroyers (class-f research artifact; background only) [other_primary]
- Locator
- class-f/benson-gleaves-class.class.json, evidence row ev-benson-gleaves-class-04
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- The class profile describes asbestos applications as an era/design inference for Benson/Gleaves-class destroyers built from 1938 to 1943 and explicitly states that it is not a ship-level asbestos record. This background does not establish that any asbestos-containing material was installed aboard USS Quick.

- Class-era background; not a finding about this hull or its crew
- Limitations
- Class/era background only. It does not establish presence, product, quantity, location, condition, or exposure aboard DD-490. Ship-specific asbestos documentation remains unknown.

[4]CourtListener authenticated API v4 exact-name docket search (“USS Quick”); fleet pacing limiter halted further requests [court_record]
- Locator
- Authenticated CourtListener API v4 search helper response, query type=r, q="USS Quick", count=0; additional helper requests exited with pacing stand-down status 2
- Finding type
- litigation_documented
- Finding
- The completed authenticated CourtListener v4 docket search for the exact phrase “USS Quick” returned zero results. This is a search result only; the planned opinion search and DD-490 docket search could not be completed because the helper reported that the fleet-wide pacing budget was momentarily spent.

- Population
- CourtListener-indexed dockets matching exact query
- Limitations
- A zero-result exact-name docket query is not proof that no litigation exists. The CourtListener sweep is incomplete: exact-name opinion and hull-number searches were not successfully completed in this session, and non-indexed records are outside the search. No litigation finding is made.
