[1]Naval History and Heritage Command, Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships, 'Evea' [nhhc_danfs]
- Locator
- Entire brief Evea entry, vessel-history paragraph
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- NHHC identifies Evea (YT-458) as formerly Resolute. The Navy acquired her on 16 May 1943, assigned her to North African waters, reclassified her YTB-458 on 15 May 1944, and transferred her to the French Navy under lend-lease on 11 November 1944. After return to the United States, she was stricken and sold.

- 1943-1944 and undated later disposition
- Limitations
- The entry gives no builder, build date, machinery, crew size, commissioning date, asbestos material, individual exposure, or dates of post-French return, striking, and sale. Reclassification describes the same hull, not a second tug.

- Locator
- search_ledger sl-uss-resolute-yt458-01 through sl-uss-resolute-yt458-04
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- The official sources reviewed for this batch did not yield a hull-specific asbestos survey, insulation specification, abatement record, or exposure finding for Evea/Resolute (YT-458/YTB-458).

- Limitations
- A negative search result is limited to the named public sources and queries; it does not prove that asbestos was absent, that anyone was or was not exposed, or that no non-digitized Navy or French records exist. CourtListener results are assessed separately in the litigation ledger.

[3]National Archives, 'An Introduction to Navy Deck Logs' [other_primary]
- Locator
- Introduction, distinction between commissioned ships and in-service service vessels
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- NARA explains that most Navy service vessels, including harbor tugs, were in service rather than in commission and ordinarily did not have separately retained permanent deck logs; parent-command records can be an archival research lead.

- World War II records policy
- Limitations
- This is NARA's general retention guidance, not proof that Evea lacked a log or that any parent-command file survives. The DANFS entry does not identify her commission status or parent command. It contains no asbestos information.
