- Finding
- Washakie served the Service Force, Pacific Fleet, reached Okinawa in World War II, and earned one battle star for the assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, 13-30 June 1945. Grounded during Typhoon Louise in October 1945, she was placed out of service on 16 October. After refloating, a further typhoon interrupted her passage toward Sasebo; she spent about six months in Chinese waters, then returned to the United States and entered reserve at San Diego. She returned to duty in May 1953 at Mayport, Florida, was redesignated YTM-386 in February 1962, and was stricken on 1 May 1975.

- Finding type

- Finding
- No Washakie-specific asbestos specification, survey, abatement record, or exposure finding was located in the public NHHC, NARA guide, and web-indexed official sources reviewed for this batch. The hull's asbestos status is unknown.

- Limitations
- Limited public-source search, not a complete archival survey. Absence of a located document neither establishes absence of asbestos nor establishes exposure, disease causation, or legal eligibility. CourtListener was blocked by the fleet-wide pacing limiter before any API result and is excluded from this negative finding.

- Opening specifications and construction paragraph
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- NHHC identifies Washakie as an Iwana-class harbor tug with complement 15. Harbor Tug No. 386 was laid down by Ira S. Bushey & Sons in Brooklyn on 13 October 1943, launched 13 February 1944, redesignated YTB-386 on 15 May 1944, delivered 30 June 1944, and placed in service 1 July 1944. NHHC gives a 218-ton displacement, 100-foot length, 25-foot beam, 10-foot draft, and 11-knot trial speed.

- Limitations
- NHHC calls the pre-redesignation craft Harbor Tug No. 386 but does not explicitly print YT-386; that construction designation remains a research alias. This history gives no propulsion or asbestos materials specification and does not establish exposure.
