- ECF No. 1, Exhibit A vessel roster ('WOODROW WILSON (SSBN-624)') and new-construction painting recital (same hull named)
- Finding type
- litigation_documented
- Finding
- Asbestos complaint Exhibit A (decedent Edward Lee McIntyre's work-history/exposure exhibit) names this hull twice: 'WOODROW WILSON (SSBN-624)' appears in the alphabetical roster of vessels worked on or around during his Mare Island Naval Shipyard employment (2 December 1963 - June 1995; painter, later Production Shop Planner for Shop 71; nuclear certified about 1965), AND the narrative duty recital alleges he 'painted during the new construction of submarines including, but not limited to, the WOODROW WILSON (SSBN-624)' along with Daniel Boone, Stonewall Jackson, Kamehameha, Mariano G. Vallejo, and other Mare Island hulls. General duty recitals allege 'painting newly installed, damaged, and cut asbestos lagging on the pipes of the vessels,' sand blasting, scraping paint off packing on steam valves and gaskets on pipe flanges, and cleaning GARLOCK gasket debris. McIntyre was diagnosed with mesothelioma about 2006 and died 19 July 2007.

- Population
- Edward Lee McIntyre (Mare Island Naval Shipyard painter/Shop 71 planner, 1963-1995; deceased)
- Limitations
- Pleading-stage allegation (scanned complaint exhibit), unadjudicated. The new-construction recital is the plaintiff's own account - it is not an individualized exposure finding and does not establish asbestos aboard this hull, exposure, causation, or eligibility. McIntyre's Mare Island start date (December 1963) means any 'new construction' painting on this hull would fall in her final outfitting window; the exhibit gives no per-hull dates. The lagging language is a general duty recital across listed vessels, not a per-hull materials record.

- ECF No. 1-2, Exhibit A vessel roster ('WOODROW WILSON (SSBN-624)')
- Finding type
- litigation_documented
- Finding
- Asbestos complaint Exhibit A (plaintiff Alvin Cooks's work-history/exposure exhibit) lists 'WOODROW WILSON (SSBN-624)' in an alphabetical roster of hulls worked on or around at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. The exhibit recites Cooks's duties as a Mare Island marine machinist (hired April 1974; helper through general foreman): removing and replacing gaskets and valve/pump packing, pipe and valve cut-outs including in reactor compartments, and removing lagging residue, in proximity to insulators, pipefitters, welders and shipfitters.

- Finding
- Post-DANFS service (secondary compilation): Poseidon conversion; return to Atlantic operations with Charleston homeport; entered Charleston Naval Shipyard for a refueling overhaul in 1989 (yard period spanned Hurricane Hugo, September 1989); ballistic-missile system deactivated during the overhaul, which completed 29 April 1990 - she thereafter operated as an attack submarine with a single crew, conducting 'special operations' patrols including 'Phantom Shadow' (September 1991); deactivated in commission 11 January 1993; decommissioned and stricken 1 September 1994; recycling entered 26 September 1997, completed 27 October 1998.

[6]Era inference anchored to DANFS/NVR-documented construction and yard periods for this hull [other_primary]
- Locator
- construction-era inference from DANFS/NVR dates and yard periods
- Finding type
- asbestos_application
- Finding
- Era inference: a first-generation ballistic-missile submarine built 1961-63 at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in the peak asbestos era would era-typically have carried asbestos-containing insulation, gaskets, and packing around its secondary steam and auxiliary machinery (S5W steam plant, turbines, pumps, valves); the Mare Island construction period itself, Poseidon conversion work, and the 1989-90 Charleston refueling overhaul are yard-disturbance windows of the kind in which era insulation was installed and removed. Nuclear propulsion itself establishes nothing about asbestos; the inference attaches to conventional steam-side systems only.

- Finding
- Name-collision and litigation screen: search-index sweeps for 'Woodrow Wilson', 'SSBN-624', and 'USS Woodrow Wilson' surfaced no asbestos opinion naming this hull; the high-collision presidential name returns substantial non-maritime material. - Finding type

- Finding
- Negative finding: no hull ACM survey, abatement contract, recycling-hazmat disclosure, materials schedule, or adjudicated exposure finding naming USS Woodrow Wilson (SSBN-624) was located. Ship-specific asbestos-adjacent records are two pleading-stage roster allegations (ev-02..03), the McIntyre exhibit additionally alleging new-construction painting aboard this hull.
