- Finding
- National Archives Special List #44 indexes U.S. Navy deck logs for YMS-115 from 9/21/1942 through 6/30/1945.

- Population
- U.S. Navy personnel and operations represented in YMS-115 deck logs
- Limitations
- This is an archival logbook-coverage index, not the underlying deck logs. The coverage window must not be treated as a commissioning or decommissioning date, and it does not establish asbestos content or exposure aboard the hull.

[3]NavSource Online: Mine Warfare Vessel Photo Archive, YMS-115 [other_primary]
- Locator
- YMS-115 page, chronology and specifications blocks
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- The live NavSource YMS-115 page identifies this hull as a YMS-1 class auxiliary motor minesweeper: laid down 26 June 1941 at San Diego Marine Construction Co., launched 3 April 1942, completed and commissioned 21 September 1942, struck from the Naval Register 19 July 1946, transferred to the War Shipping Administration in February 1947, with fate unknown. Its specification block lists 270 tons displacement, 136-foot length, 24 feet 6 inches beam, 8-foot draft, 15-knot speed, complement 32, and two General Motors 8-268A diesel engines.

- Population
- YMS-115 construction personnel and U.S. Navy crew
- Limitations
- NavSource is a secondary compilation and is used here for the individual-hull identity and chronology supplied in the batch scope. The page states that no DANFS history is available for YMS-115. It contains no asbestos information and does not establish the final disposition beyond 'fate unknown.'

[4]U.S. Government Accountability Office, Navy Efforts To Protect Workers From Asbestos Exposure, HRD-80-2 [gao]
- Locator
- GAO product page, Highlights
- Finding type
- gov_survey
- Finding
- GAO's 1979 review describes Navy efforts concerning asbestos exposure, including use of asbestos in Navy ships, removal costs, and a 1975 policy to remove and replace damaged or repair-displaced insulation with nonasbestos materials. This is Navy program-era context only; it does not identify YMS-115 or any material aboard it.

- Population
- Navy shipyard workers and Navy ships in the GAO review
- Limitations
- Program-level evidence about Navy ships and policy; it does not establish that asbestos-containing material was installed aboard YMS-115, identify products or locations, quantify material, or establish individual exposure. The full 26-page report was not retrieved.

- Locator
- Search ledger sl-uss-yms-115-yms115-01 through sl-uss-yms-115-yms115-06
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos record was located in the authoritative sources reviewed: no survey, material inventory, abatement record, or documented designation alias matching this hull was found. This is a bounded negative finding, not proof that asbestos was absent aboard YMS-115.

- Limitations
- The negative finding is limited by public-source availability and the incomplete CourtListener sweep. It does not establish absence of asbestos, absence of undocumented records, or absence of exposure.

[6]CourtListener authenticated API v4 via /Users/charlesfletcher/devin-prompts/cl-auth-search.py; helper reported fleet-wide pacing budget spent [court_record]
- Locator
- Helper stderr: 'COURTLISTENER PACING: the fleet-wide request budget is momentarily spent'; no result payload returned
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- The required authenticated CourtListener sweep was started with the exact-name opinion query 'USS YMS-115' and was stopped by the fleet-wide pacing helper before a result was returned. The exact-name docket, hull-number opinion, and hull-number docket queries were not run; no litigation conclusion is drawn.

- Limitations
- This is an incomplete search, not a no-result finding. The three unrun base queries remain open. No asbestos-qualified variant was run because variants are prohibited when the base query is incomplete and no base overflow was established.
