[2]NavSource Online, Mine Warfare Vessel Photo Archive, 'Fulmar (MSC[O] 47), ex-Fulmar (AMS 47), ex-YMS-193' (live page verified HTTP 200, 2026-10-04). [other_primary]
- Locator
- Header and YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper chronology/specifications block; photograph table captions.
- Finding type
- vessel_history
- Finding
- NavSource's live YMS-193 page identifies the vessel as Fulmar (MSC(O)-47), formerly Fulmar (AMS-47) and YMS-193. It states that Greenport Basin and Construction Co., Greenport, Long Island, New York laid her down 31 October 1942; she launched 2 January 1943; completed 28 June 1943 and commissioned USS YMS-193; was named and reclassified Fulmar (AMS-47) on 1 September 1947; reclassified MSC(O)-47 on 7 February 1955; laid up with the Atlantic Reserve Fleet's Philadelphia Group; struck from the Naval Register 1 October 1968; and sold 23 July 1969. The page lists fate unknown, call sign November-Zulu-Hotel-Alpha, complement 32, and two 880-bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines with Snow and Knobstedt single-reduction gear on two shafts.

- Population
- Ship's company (NavSource lists complement 32).
- Limitations
- NavSource is a live secondary photo-archive compilation, not a primary construction or personnel record. Its chronology and specifications support the stated identity and history but contain no asbestos statement; the diesel specification cannot establish the presence or absence of asbestos-containing materials.

- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- National Archives Special List 44, the ship-number index to U.S. Navy deck logs in NARA custody, lists YMS-193 with log coverage from 29 June 1943 through 30 June 1945.

- Limitations
- This is a custody/coverage index, not the deck logs themselves. The indexed coverage is not a commissioning or decommissioning date and does not identify asbestos, products, exposure, repair work, or causation. The logs were not examined for this record.

[4]National Archives, 'Researching Asbestos aboard US Naval Vessel up through 1961' (live page verified HTTP 200, 2026-10-04). [other_primary]
- Locator
- Beginning Research; Bureau of Ships General, Confidential, and Secret Correspondence; General Information Books (RG 19 Entry P 11, Minesweeper and Minelayer GIBs); Specification Files sections.
- Finding type
- regulatory
- Finding
- NARA's official asbestos-research guide identifies asbestos in U.S. Navy materiel from 1941 through 1961 as a complex research topic and identifies the record pathways for a hull-level determination: Bureau of Ships RG 19 correspondence filed by individual hull, class, type, and construction yard; minesweeper and minelayer General Information Books; and specification files. For this hull, those paths include YMS193 correspondence, its YMS-1-class records, and Greenport Basin and Construction Co. yard correspondence.

- 1941-1961 (guide scope)
- Population
- Navy construction and maintenance personnel within the guide's 1941-1961 research scope.
- Limitations
- This is a research-pathway guide, not a record for Fulmar/YMS-193. The cited RG 19 and specification records were not retrieved or reviewed; the guide does not establish or negate materials aboard this hull, individual exposure, causation, or legal eligibility.

[5]CourtListener authenticated-search helper status, batch 8848 (2026-10-04); see search_ledger. [other_primary]
- Locator
- search_ledger entries sl-uss-yms-193-yms193-04 through -07; helper wrote 'authenticated request: type=o query_len=12' before the headless command ended while it awaited fleet pacing.
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- The required authenticated CourtListener sweep is incomplete. The first base query, exact-name opinion search for USS Fulmar (limit 20), entered the helper and then awaited the fleet-wide pacing lock; the headless command ended before a result or API response was available. The exact-name docket and YMS-193 opinion/docket base queries were not issued, and no asbestos-qualified variants were run. Therefore this record makes no negative litigation finding.

[6]Batch 8848 research ledger: NARA Special List 44 and asbestos research guide; live NavSource YMS-193 page; GAO HRD-80-2 access check; Firecrawl and CourtListener helper status (2026-10-04). [other_primary]
- Locator
- search_ledger entries sl-uss-yms-193-yms193-01 through -09.
- Finding type
- historical_record
- Finding
- No ship-specific asbestos survey, abatement record, hazmat disclosure, product identification, or materials specification naming YMS-193/Fulmar was located in the public sources retained for this record. The unexamined NARA deck logs and the RG 19 minesweeper General Information Book, correspondence, and specification series remain the principal hull-specific archival leads.

- Limitations
- This is a bounded negative search result, not proof that asbestos was absent aboard the hull. The deck logs and RG 19 records were not examined, Firecrawl was quota-blocked, and CourtListener coverage is incomplete; this row does not establish or defeat exposure, causation, legal eligibility, or the presence or absence of asbestos aboard.
