The record
The same opinion recounts pre-1992 confirmatory testing: after FDA consultant Dr. Seymour Lewin reported asbestos in samples in 1972, J&J retained Walter C. McCrone Associates, which confirmed tremolite; in 1975 McCrone found some samples contained "rather high" levels of amphibole asbestiform fibers; a 1974 internal report found "extremely low" chrysotile in three samples of Johnson's Baby Powder.
Claim scope
Dated, specific pre-1992 contamination findings recounted in a published opinion, including third-party laboratory confirmation.
What this source does not establish
Same recitation limit as above — these are plaintiffs' evidence as recounted, not judicial findings. Also: these findings concern products generally, not the specific lots used by any consumer.
Limitations
Same reporter-citation caveat as the 1969 finding.
