Source Taxonomy

The Atlas distinguishes direct primary records, qualified attribution, procedural records, and publication-status records. Court records describe procedural posture; they are not scientific conclusions. Retractions preserve publication history and are not affirmative support.

First-Release Gate

The first release contains 155 evidence items and excludes 15 editorial HOLD claims, outdated legacy IARC language, a PACER-only docket lead, and retraction-only material from affirmative evidence output. Qualified claims retain adjacent source, scope, limitation, and does-not-establish fields.

Correction Protocol

Documentary source leads must provide an evidence ID, stable official or scholarly URL, precise locator, and proposed correction. Reviewed claims are corrected, qualified, superseded, held, or excluded by source strength. Accepted changes are dated and published through the release manifest and update feeds.
