Talc Evidence Atlas — release-gated evidence record. Status: verified · Track: regulatory · Modified 2026-08-13

The record

The nine FY2019 asbestos-positive samples were: three Claire's products (Compact Powder lot 06/16, Contour Palette lot 04/17, JoJo Siwa Makeup Set lot S180109), five Beauty Plus Global 'City Color' products (Contour Effects Palette 2 lot 1603002/PD-C1179, Timeless Beauty Palette lot 1510068/PD-C864R, Matte Blush Fuchsia lot 1605020/PD-840, Shimmer Bronzer Caramel lot 1612112/PD-840, Bronzer Sunset lot 160634/PD-P712M), and Johnson's Baby Powder lot 22318RB. All were recalled.

Claim scope

Which specific branded products and lot numbers tested positive in FY2019, by whom they were distributed, and that each was recalled. Note the PLM/TEM split: only the two Claire's samples D-30 and D-31 were 'positive for tremolite' on PLM; the other seven — including Johnson's Baby Powder lot 22318RB — were PLM-negative and detected only by TEM.

What this source does not establish

Does NOT establish that these brands sell contaminated product today. Does NOT establish fiber type for most samples: the table reports 'positive for asbestos' without naming the mineral except where PLM found tremolite.

Limitations

The seven PLM-negative / TEM-positive results are the empirical core of the detection-method dispute: a PLM-only protocol would have cleared seven of the nine positives, including the recalled Johnson's Baby Powder lot.
