Consumer product manufacturers knew asbestos was in their talc. They sold it anyway. People developed cancers, including mesothelioma.
Internal documents, federal testing records, and court discovery exposed a chain from mineral source to consumer product to cancer diagnosis. In July 2024, IARC classified talc as a Group 2A probable human carcinogen. This atlas assembles the primary public record.
Material Origins
The opening map shows source geography, not a map of contamination events. It displays only release-eligible locations supported by direct source relationships and distinguishes direct source records from qualified attribution.
